Oakland dance & fitness classes that encourage joy, provide health education, and support fitness goals.
15 years ago, I took my first dance class. I discovered the capabilities of my body. I fell in love with dance and movement. Dance boosts my mood, energy, creativity, and coordination. Movement gave me tools for more confidence, better relationships with people, and how to speak up for my health needs. I realized my passion for showing people that movement is a key aspect to a healthy life. I believe that moving your body is more than a chore or a “should”. I also believe that community is an important part to transforming health. I believe in having a silly, good time while pursuing fitness.
I applied this passion to a Master’s Degree in Holistic Health Education. For my final project I created Come Home to the Body, a health education program that teaches movement as part of emotional, physical, spiritual, and community health.

- To build supportive community that allows individuals to contribute their experiences.

Take a look at the menu for classes and events to move your body. Bliss Grooves is the weekly dance fitness class with a dash of yoga. Belly dance runs in 8 week sessions with performance opportunities. Do you love ecstatic dance type of movement? Join the Improvisational Alchemy monthly community dance.
